A Little History
Open Door Christian Ministries was founded by Pastor Ben and his wife Jonalee in February 2008. They were originally meeting at a house in Kahili Valley for church services when the Lord had clearly spoken to them about taking their ministry out into the community.
Since then they have never looked back and God has been directing and blessing their ministry
.
The ministry’s primary mission is clearly stated in the passage from Luke 4:18, where Jesus emphasizes His own ministry:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are downtrodden, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”

Moving with the Holy Spirit of God with passion, the Open Door Christian Ministries team believes in the miracles from our Father God, as prayers are offered up to Him. We hold steadfast to the Scripture verse in Mark 16:17-18:
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

What We Believe
WE BELIEVE in the one and only true God, who created the entire universe. He is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born on earth and lived among us. Out of love for humanity, he willingly suffered and died upon a cross to pay the price for our sins. He was raised on the third day, showed himself to many people, and later ascended into Heaven. He will return some day to judge the living and the dead.
HOLY SPIRIT. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who was given by God to dwell in all those who put their trust in Jesus Christ. The Spirit guides, comforts, convicts, and instructs us. He empowers us so that we might be transformed in our hearts and also so that we might carry out in faith God's mission upon the earth.

FALLEN INTO SIN. We believe that mankind was created in the image of God and that the world was originally a wonderful and perfect place. But because man sinned, his relationship with God was severed and he brought brokenness, heartache, and death into the world.
FRIEND OF GOD. As sinners today, we are in desperate need of God’s grace to bring restoration, healing, and forgiveness into our lives. Apart from God, we face the inevitable future of an eternity of suffering and separation from Him. But by taking up God's gift, by turning from sin and putting our faith in Jesus, we can be made right with God. We can know what it means to be a friend of God.
FRIEND OF GOD. As sinners today, we are in desperate need of God’s grace to bring restoration, healing, and forgiveness into our lives. Apart from God, we face the inevitable future of an eternity of suffering and separation from Him. But by taking up God's gift, by turning from sin and putting our faith in Jesus, we can be made right with God. We can know what it means to be a friend of God.
SPOKEN. We believe that God has not been silent nor inactive in history. What God has done and spoken is recorded in the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments.
SPEAKING STILL. The Bible is the inspired word of God, consistent in truth and without error, the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. God continues to speak and to act in history today, and His Spirit speaks foremost through God's revealed Word.

IN THE BEGINNING. LIfe was originally meant to be lived out in close personal relationship with God. After sin entered the world, that relationship was broken. Humanity chose a life apart from God. In all fairness, God could have simply left us alone, stuck in our own choices.
REDEMPTION. But - the BIble tells us - God so loved the world that He gave His only son Jesus, that whoever believed in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. Turning from sin and turning to Jesus Christ, following Him as our Lord and Savior, effects divine and eternal changes. There is forgiveness, restoration, and friendship with God. There is a true second chance to live our lives as God intended. There is God's presence and empowering Spirit at work in our lives.
ABUNDANT LIFE. Jesus talks about life with Him as an eternal and abundant life. Something rich and full and satisfying. And it doesn't begin only when we die someday. That new life begins right away when we put our trust in Christ. All God's spiritual riches and resources are available to the person who is born again into God's family.
